Today marked the 2016 Trooping the Colour (the official celebration of the British sovereign’s birthday), where we got a chance to see the entire Cambridge family! Princess Charlotte made her debut on the balcony of Buckingham Palace, held on her mother’s hip. Prince William carried George onto the balcony for his second Trooping, but then allowed the curious boy to stand and wave on his own...Charlotte hasn’t quite mastered the royal wave yet and was seen chewing on her finger – likely a result of teething.
Princess Charlotte wore a gorgeous, light pink dress that appears to have a subtle, pale pinstripe. The traditional garment features smocking across the entire chest, a peter pan collar, short sleeves and a sash detail in the back. The sash is unique as it doesn’t wrap around to the front and closes with four buttons at the back of the waist instead of tied. We have yet to identify this dress but are on the hunt! Charlotte’s bangs were pulled to the side with one of her signature, Amaia Kids bows (in Quartz), and she wore pink scalloped ankle socks and Early Days Emma Pre-walkers in pink. Although some have suggested Charlotte’s socks are by Condor, the brand that supplies Amaia Kids with the socks and tights we’ve seen George and Charlotte wear in the past, we do not believe the width of the scallops match with what Charlotte wore today. We will continue to search for an ID.

Prince George once again wore a vintage piece, first seen on his father in 1984 at Prince Harry’s christening. You probably remember that George wore another heirloom outfit for the 2015 Trooping the Colour. Today’s ensemble featured a white, short sleeve button down shirt with tuxedo-like pleating on the chest. The cuffs and peter pan collar are trimmed in a light blue that matched perfectly with the shorts George wore. In video footage, George appears to have worn navy ankle socks and navy shoes, but we haven’t gotten a close enough look to conclusively identify the brand. We wouldn’t be surprised if he was wearing a pair of Start Rite Jos. George adorably shielded his eyes from the sun while watching a fly-past.

What a treat it was to see the family! Trooping the Colour remains one of the most looked forward to annual events, and today was no disappointment.
