Your eyes are not deceiving you – Prince George is wearing a robe and slippers.

This evening, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, along with Prince Harry, hosted President Obama and First Lady Michelle for dinner at Kensington Palace. This is a gathering for the books; this is the first official function hosted by the young royals without a senior royal present. In addition, it was the first event held at William and Kate’s recently renovated Apartment 1A.

The eager Prince George was allowed to stay up 15 minutes past his bedtime to greet guests and to meet the Obamas specifically; meanwhile Princess Charlotte slept soundly. Photographs show George standing in the hallway, waiting for guests to arrive. Looks like we are going to have a socialite on our hands.

Prior to dinner, William and Kate brought the Obamas to the Drawing Room, where George personally thanked them for his rocking horse – a gift sent by the Obamas to commemorate George’s birth. Fun fact: The rocking horse was made from a tree that once stood on the White House lawn! Also thoughtfully placed in the room was the toy dog – a replica of the family’s Portuguese water dog, Bo by American brand, Ty – that the Obamas gifted George at Charlotte’s birth. It is available to purchase for $27.95.

Prince George looked dapper as ever in a light blue, classic gingham pajama set. He donned a white robe, his name embroidered on the left breast, and trimmed with a blue and white piping. Fellow royal fashion blogger, Patricia Watts of A Petite Princess, quickly identified the robe as a sold out piece from My 1st Years. It originally retailed for £27.00 (about $38.31), and the company is re-releasing it and taking pre-orders now. George’s loungewear look was completed with a pair of dark navy slippers that appear to have red detailing on top.

We will continue to work on identifying the pajamas and slippers. Stay tuned for updates.Have a great weekend!

Monique Jessen of People Magazine revealed that George wore Trotters’ Little Boston Plane Slippers when he met the Obamas. The navy, velvet slippers featured an embroidered red biplane on the front and fastened with a velcro strap. They originally retailed for an affordable £18, but they are no longer available. (Side note: Chrissy’s dad is a pilot, so if you see these slippers become available on eBay, do let us know! She’d love to purchase them to tuck away for her future children – in honor of her dad.)

* UPDATE 4/30/2016*

With thanks to a reader of What Kate's Kids Wore, George's pajamas are by The Little White Company, a brand we've seen George in before. The seersucker gingham PJs are no longer available, but you can find similar looks here and here.
