Wow, 2015 has positively flown by! It’s been a huge year for Prince George Pieces, with the highlights being the birth of Princess Charlotte and our subsequent blog expansion. We love covering the adventures and sartorial choices of both children!
Overall we saw less of Prince George this year, mainly due to the fact that he did not accompany the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on a Royal Tour like last spring. Last year, we predicted that 2015 would bring more Start Rite, Rachel Riley, Amaia Kids, and Trotters pieces for George - and that prediction certainly was accurate. However, with the birth of Princess Charlotte, we saw George begin to wear more Spanish designers as well. New designers adding their names to his closet include Fina Ejerique, Olivier Baby & Kids, Mayoral, and Crocs. With the exception of the Rachel Riley ensemble he wore to Princess Charlotte’s Christening, George stayed true to his blue and navy color pallette. However, he did surprise us by wearing a vintage ensemble at Trooping, and we couldn’t have been more delighted!
Because of her tender age, we’ve seen less of Princess Charlotte, but her outfits over the last 7 months have been much more surprising than George’s were during his first year. Clothing pieces from small Spanish childrenswear companies like Irulea and M&H have kept us on our toes and made for difficult IDs. Luckily you all have been awesome, offering great tips and collective ID suggestions along the way - we can’t thank you enough! As far as a color palette goes, Charlotte has worn ivory and pink. We will see if these color trends continue into 2016 like George with his signature blue. Either way, we expect to see more Spanish brands added to both children’s closets in the coming months.
As the year comes to a close, we are spending some time reflecting on 2015 and making plans for an even more exciting 2016. Thank you for sharing our love of royals, fashion, and those adorable Cambridge kids (duh!). Cheers to a sparkly New Year!
