Good evening, friends!

Yesterday, we received some useful information about the birth of Royal Baby 2.0, so here is a quick post summing up the key points for you.

Kate is suspected to be due sometime during the second half of this month (April 25th according to claims by the Daily Mail, but if it’s the 21st, the little prince or princess will share a birthday with the Queen), and despite rumors, she and Wills elected not to know the sex of the baby (George’s sex was also a surprise). Royal Baby 2.0 will be fourth in line to the throne, regardless of his or her sex (Cheers to the succession rule change passed by Parliament in 2013!).

The birth will take place in the Lindo Wing of St. Mary’s Hospital. Prince William will be training as an air ambulance pilot with East Anglia Air Ambulance near Kate’s due date. Fun fact: the Lindo Wing is also where George, Wills, and Harry were born! What a lovely family tradition. It’s pretty expensive birthing accommodations, however, with costs to use the private room for labor beginning at over £5,000 for the first 24 hours of a delivery. Guy Thorpe-Beeston, who was a part of the team for Cheek’s birth, will be the obstetrician delivering Royal Baby 2.0.

This time around, the Palace is attempting to reduce “chaotic interest” in the birth; therefore, police have been instructed to prevent reporters, photographers, etc. from lingering outside the wing until it’s been officially confirmed Kate has been admitted for labor. Media barricades will be put in place on April 16th.

Palace officials will announce the birth first on social media platforms, but if it’s after 10 pm, the announcement will not be made until 8 am the following day. Immediately following the digital announcement, a royal official will traditionally deliver the written birth announcement, by car, to Buckingham Palace where it will be displayed on an easel in the forecourt. Kate and Wills will inform the family prior to making the announcement to the public, of course.

The family is expected to spend their first few days at Kensington Palace before relocating to Anmer Hall where Kate will be taking an extended maternity leave, spending the majority of her summer with her little ones (We first saw Kate in an official capacity 5 weeks after the birth of Cheeks). Wills also will be taking 2 weeks of leave to enjoy his growing family. We can only imagine the adorable moments spent cuddling, kissing, taking photographs, and just enjoying that new baby smell.

At this point, the Cambridges are not planning on hiring additional staff, but should a posting for a second nanny come up, we might already have our resumes and cover letters prepared…

The always benevolent couple have already express how “hugely grateful” they are for the well wishes of the public on the birth of Royal Baby 2.0. Our hearts would stop beating if we ever received a thank you note from Wills, Kate, Cheeks, Lupo, and Royal Baby 2.0.

It’s still undecided if Prince George will visit his new brother or sister while Mum is in the hospital, so surprises are still around the corner!

What do you think about the press not being able to set up camp outside the Lindo wing until Kate goes into labor? Yay or nay? Comment below!
