Hello, baby model! Tonight, 3 charming Christmas images of Prince George were released showcasing him grinning on the steps of Kensington Palace. The photographs were taken by Ed Lane Fox, Prince Harry’s private secretary who used to be a freelance photographer, and showcase a rapidly growing toddler with even more hair than we remember! He is still Prince Cheeks with an absolutely adorable and mischievous gleam in his eyes. Seriously, we cannot get enough of this rosy-cheeked little boy. According to Victoria Murphy, Royal Report for the Daily Mirror, William and Catherine released the photographs in part out of gratitude for the general respect everyone has shown in honoring their request not to take photos of George in his daily life (aka pap photos).
George wears a blue sweater vest from Cath Kidston called the “Guards Tank Top” with thanks to What Prince George Wore. Unfortunately, this item is not currently available, but other items from Cath Kidston can be purchased with the same guards motif for everyone in the family. We are big fans of the Guards Blanket and the Guards Sleepsuit & Knot Hat Gift Set. Cath Kidston is a British brand, started in 1993. Their vision is “to create practical, everyday useful things that make you smile. To design prints that are colourful, cheery and evoke a sense of nostalgia and fun. To make products fit for today,” and their aesthetic is “Modern Vintage.” This Guardsmen Jumper at Trotters gives a similar feel.
This is not the first time we’ve seen George in the guardsmen motif. Remember the ivory guards jumper he wore on the Royal Tour earlier this year? While we still haven’t identified the maker of that cardi, we did discover this awesome repligeorge from Sue Hill Hand Knits. This merino cashmere is hand knit in the UK and retails for £59.00 (about $93 USD). Their Personalized Name Sweater is another great repli-george for those who loved his Corgi Hosiery look! We love that George represents his country with pride!
Underneath the vest, George’s bodysuit is from Polarn O. Pyret, who began in Stockholm in 1976. The direct Swedish translation of “Polarn O. Pyret” means “Buddy and the Little Guy,” and they are particularly famous for their striped apparel. George wore the brand’s Classic Organic Cotton Bodysuit. This item is currently on sale for $20.30 so act fast! We’ve noticed that depending on the image, the logo on the left sleeve alternates between dark blue and white. On George’s bodysuit, the logo is dark blue, but it appears like you could receive either logo when purchasing.
*George’s trousers are a dark blue corduroy with a small opening and button on the cuffs. We have yet to conclusively ID them, but in the meantime, you can repligeorge with these shorts by Aletta.
George has outgrown his Early Days Alex Pre-Walkers and is now wearing the Jo by Start Rite. The navy leather t-strap shoes retail for £36 (about $57). We first ID'd these shoes from a paparazzi photo this summer and predict they will become a staple in his wardrobe in the coming years. Underneath, he kept those pudgy legs cosy with a pair of navy socks, pulled up to his knees similar to these in Dark Blue Hose Socks from Neck and Neck.
In other news, anyone not living under a rock knows that Wills and Kate just finished a very successful visit to New York City earlier this week. We learned that Prince George's gender really WAS a surprise, so much so that our favorite Cambridge couple forgot to check his sex immediately! It looks like Baby Cambridge #2 will be a surprise for the couple as well. While his parents were abroad, George also received a pint-sized Cavs jersey from LeBron James, who proceeded to photoshop a picture of him wearing it over his Neck & Neck dungarees! Additionally, we learned that Cheeks already loves playing iPad games. That makes you and us both, Georgie! Finally, Kate commented that she and George have been listening to classical music together. How cute, not to mention educational, is that?
So because it's Christmas-time, and we love listening to classical music too, we thought we'd gift you, our awesome readers, with a Royal Lullaby Spotify playlist. We were quite in a quandary over the maker of Prince George’s darling, corduroy bloomers, but this morning Amaia Kids came forward as both the atelier of Cheeks’ shorts and his socks. The “winter bloomers” are called the Groitte and retail for £36 (about $57). While currently out of stock (big surprise!), Amaia will be restocking in 3 weeks! The navy socks cost £7 (about $11) and are appropriate for children of both genders.
Many of you wrote us over the weekend asking for more info on George’s Cath Kidston Guardsman Tank Top. Currently, it is sold out, but we have great news for you! Cath Kidston will be re-releasing the piece in their 2015 collection. That means that if you snatch up his Start Rite shoes and Polarn O. Pyret onesie, and are willing to wait on the bloomers and sweater vest, you can buy George’s whole outfit! How’s that for an early present from Santa?
