Playgrounds, Pajamas and Palaces

Allegedly, our favorite Mum and Son played in Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Playground in Kensington Gardens recently. Not only is it so lovely to see Kate and George bonding and enjoying the summer sun, it also absolutely makes our hearts swell to know Kate is taking care to introduce George to the legacy of his gorgeous grandmother. This is the epitome of good parenting, in our opinion! The playground opened in 2000 to commemorate Diana and her love of children; its Peter Pan theme reminds us of the classic illustrations decorating George’s nursery, where the playground is potentially visible through the window! We can just imagine George and Kate cuddling in a rocker with George sporting a new pair of pajamas Kate reportedly shopped for this past Sunday at the Bicester Village Lacoste outlet store. The preppy, clean style of the brand certainly makes it a likely candidate for George’s wardrobe.

However, they might not be enjoying the view of the gardens for long. Although Kensington Palace only recently underwent extensive renovations for the Cambridge family, our favorite royals have decided to move to Anmer Hall in Norfolk. Many motivating factors went into the decision: Will is starting his new job as a pilot for the East Anglian Air Ambulance Service, and with his family near by, he will be able to easily maximize his 3 days off a week as family bonding time. Additionally, Kate and Wills have always been fond of the countryside - they’re a very active couple, and they have a firm establishment of friends in the Norfolk area. This will allow George to have plenty of opportunities to romp around outside in a safe and secluded environment as opposed to KP where the paparazzi easily spotted and photographed the family, causing them to avoid leisurely walks. It is fully expected when George is ready for school, the Cambridges will return to London, but until then, KP will serve as lodging only when business brings Wills and Kate into town and Anmer Hall will be their home. They are not the first royals to favor their country lodgings; Queen E adores Windsor and Prince Charles is quite fond of Highgrove.

Do you prefer raising a child in the country or the city? We can see benefits in each situation! Comment below with your thoughts on the royal relocation!
