Happy Birthday, Prince George!

What a whirlwind day celebrating His Royal Highness Prince George Alexander Louis of Cambridge’s first birthday. While London Landmarks are lit up to celebrate the close of his birthday, we here at PGP are celebrating with some cake and ice cream and daydreams about what Cheeks’ birthday party must have been like. His morning started with a drive (with Mum) to Buckingham Palace, where a rendition of Happy Birthday was played outside the palace gates. Perhaps the trip was to get some quality time in with Granny before the party or to pick up delectable cupcakes from the resident chef - we can only speculate.
The party began upon return to Kensington Palace where guests included Mr. and Mrs. Middleton, Pippa and James, Prince Harry, Zara Phillips and Mike Tindall, Emilia D’Erlanger, and Jamie Lowther Pinkerton. As if the guest list wasn’t impressive enough -- filled with family members and godparents who absolutely adore Cheeks -- George's great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, joined the festivities. However, his grandparents, Prince Charles and Camilla, were unable to attend as they are on holiday in Scotland.
The world celebrated this future king’s birthday with periodicals and news stations reporting on the occasion and a live feed broadcasting the party guests’ arrival. Clarence House used Storify to collect birthday wishes for the prince. Did you submit your well wishes or watch the stream? We did!
In other celebratory news, the lovely Jessica E. won our giveaway with Les Petites Abeilles and will be receiving a smocked sailboat romper! Hurrah and huzzah for a gift fit for a royal.
