Tomorrow (or today if you're in the UK) is Prince George’s first birthday! Saturday evening, the first of 3 photos by John Stillwell was released in celebration of the occasion. This evening at 5:00 pm EDT (10:00 in the UK), in time for the Tuesday papers, two family portraits of George and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were released, taken at the Sensational Butterflies Exhibit at the Natural History Museum in London. The royal family looked perfectly relaxed and natural (Was that a drool spot on the corner of Mum’s dress?) as they cooed over the gorgeous butterflies. "He's quick on his feet," Stillwell disclosed about his experience photographing George in an interview with People magazine, "He was walking towards me – I was kneeling down to take the picture, and he was on top of me as soon as he started walking. He was very quick. He looked really steady on his feet." An insider spilled that the shoot didn’t go as smoothly as planned; because of the early hour of the photoshoot, the butterflies took a while to warm up and approach the birthday boy.

George remained in his outfit from the portrait released Saturday, wearing Petit Bateau overalls over a matching navy onesie. His overalls have sold out, but you can still repli-George. Just visit our page for some affordable inspired looks for your little prince!
The Cambridges released the following statement: “We'd like to take this opportunity on George's first birthday to thank everyone over the last year, wherever we have met them both at home and overseas, for their warm and generous good wishes to George and our family.” Trust us, Wills and Kate, you guys make it easy!
In other news, the Royal Mint released a commemorative £5 coin in honor of Cheeks’ special day. He is the first UK royal to have a coin produced for a birthday. This is nothing new for George; his birth and christening were also marked with special edition coin releases. Only 7,500 will be minted, and these £5 coins will cost you £80 each.
Tonight is the your last chance to sign up for our Smocked Sailboat Romper giveaway with Les Petites Abeilles!
