For all of you mummies out there looking for nursery decor inspiration, today’s reported
purchases will excite you! An article by Vanity Fair reveals Prince George’s nursery has a gorgeous and classic theme - Beatrix Potter! His furniture set comes from Dragons of Walton Street, a luxury, family-run children’s furniture company. Dragons is based in London and handpaints all of its items in Sussex. The company has been around since 1979 and is known for its classic, British designs. PGP isn’t surprised Kate and Wills chose Dragons furniture for George’s nursery; Dragons also designed the nurseries of Princes William and Harry and Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie. We love that the brand is committed to employing British carpenters and artists as well.
George’s Peter Rabbit crib retails for £1,355 (about $2320), and his nursery reportedly features the matching changer (£345.00 or about $591). This pairs perfectly with Dragons’ large chest of drawers (£1,445.00). Of course, Dragons is bound to confidentiality agreements and cannot confirm or deny the Cambridges are customers, but we have no doubt George is waking up to Peter Rabbit and friends. PGP loves the iconic tale and is even more in love with these pieces!
In other news, a source close to PGP confirms that Pippa Middleton did indeed comission a silver cast of Prince George's hands and feet as a christening gift (first rumored in 2013). The pieces were made by British sculpture company, Wrightson & Platt and a full set retails for $8850. We hear the Cambridges were quite pleased with this memento - what a great keepsake!
