Prince George had his first official engagement - a royal playdate at the Government House in Wellington, NZ. We couldn’t take our eyes off the cutie who lovingly patted his mother’s hair and enthusiastically crawled among his 10 new friends - a great mix of boys and girls of differing ethnicities close in age to George. We’re sure the adults had tons to talk about, all being first time parents. Perhaps Kate shared her favorite childrenswear brands with the other new mummies or discussed the pros and cons of rear-facing vs. forward-facing car seats. George was in top form, remaining pleasant while his occasional playmate was heard fussing. We think he's a proper gentleman, even if he did steal a toy or two!
George sported the Milo Body by Chelsea Clothing Co., available at Trotters. The short sleeved, white onesie adds some personality to the classic, baby staple with a peter pan collar trimmed in navy, retailing for £14.99 (about $25 USD). He also wore navy Sailboat Smocked Dungarees, perfect for the Royal Tour’s location, by the British children's brand Rachel Riley. Not only are the dungarees so sweet with the smocked red, white, and navy sailboat on the chest, but they also feature a fabulous back detail - criss cross straps (which are as practical as they are cute; they’re adjustable)! This item retails for $129. He coordinated perfectly with navy socks and Early Days Alex Pre-Walkers in navy (the same style of shoe he wore upon arrival). You can pick up the shoes at Trotters for £24.99.
Having established a few favorite brands on this tour already, PGP looked further into their collections. We strongly believe George first sported Rachel Riley not only today but in Australia while switching planes. Rachel Riley’s navy Moss Stitch Cardigan, which you can get for $89, is a perfect match. We believe this cardigan was worn over a classic, navy footie, which would be very comfortable for the baby to travel in (sensible Kate!).
Overall, the Prince captured the world’s attention with his renowned cheeks, impeccable style, and decent behavior. We fully expect a surge of babies in smocked dungarees and dresses. Cue the squeals.
